Pixies – for free
Yeeha!
From the official toy love website:
Bride of Frankenstein
I’m lying in a hospital room
The air is dripping with impending doom
Now all these faces looking down at me
Readying me for surgery
They’re all saying it’ll all be sweet
I’ll be back on my feet in about a week
But I don’t hear a single word they say
My mind is several million miles away
I wanna be six foot three
I want a bride he said
Make me a bride he said
From one who died he said
I’m lying on an operating table
I don’t know nothing cos I’m not quite able
To see or hear or feel a thing
For my body’s not finished or functioning
They’re putting me together out of other peoples’ bodies
But I don’t mind and I haven’t got a worry
As long as they give me what I really crave
A viable alternative to the grave
I wanna be six foot three
I want a bride he said
Make me a bride he said
From one who died he said
Sewn up, so fine
Bride of Frankenstein
I’m lying in a hospital bed
Don’t know if I’m alive or dead
And is it really true or merely fantasy
That these so-called doctors made a monster out of me
I’m staring at a place where my body used to start
But it’s been made a guinea-pig to surgical art
I’m lying here locked in someone else’s skin
And heaben only knows the sorta state I’m in
And god I’m six foot three
I want a bride he said
Make me a bride he said
From one who died he said
Sewn up, so fine
Bride of Frankenstein
I wanna be a test driver
Test driver wanted for bleeding edge speed test. Will it survive the toddler test?
One-click addiction
One search (electric vehicles | Addictomatic) and I was hooked. Addictomatic is a customisable search / aggregator that returns some fantastic results. You can move stuff around and bookmark it, and the layout stays the same between visits. It’s like a news only version of netvibes or iGoogle, but its a nice way to get some different search results in a single place.
It doesn’t have RSS yet, but it will sooner or later. The Mac News was also quite impressive. Cheers to JB for the link – it’s a ripper.

Best gadget ever?
iPod touch – the best gadget ever? Very distracting that’s for sure. I carry round a bag full of equipment most days – Minidisc (with cords, mics adapters and cables), camera, laptop and now iPod.
Sure, there’s a new 3G version on the way (in cities in NZ at least – 2G out of town), but good news is that new software will work on existing models – iPod touch included.
The touch screen is fantastic and typing can actually be quite quick – especially for those of us who went to two-finger typing class. With the announcement of the new models they’re getting cheaper on TradeMe – around $300 for mine – three or four months old. 8 gig is heaps of storage, and with Plaxo it can be synched across platforms and everything I need is there. Itunes playlists, calendars, bookmarks, work and home appts, podcasts (audio and video) contacts email etc.
Gmail account works better than others at the moment – no doubt there’s a solve out there somewhere – probably port settings, but not really an issue currently, I can send and receive if need be.
The screen is brilliant and clear and the self-tipping of the screen is cool. Zoom / expand and pinch / reduce functions are a little compromised with the screen protector, but I wouldn’t be without one.
Battery life is two days tops if wireless is on and used moderately, less if you used all day. Three to four days if wireless use is limited.
iPhone would be great too – with the camera and the phone, but wait a year and there’ll be another version and a lower price …
