MAD comics used to have this great section comparing what the advertising said and what the actual experience of using a product was. They were hilarious, and I was reminded of them when I read about the Brit who was taken at gunpoint, fingerprinted and put on the national DNA database after someone mistook his MP3 player for a weapon. See Sideswipe.
I bet all the design, testing, ergonomics, software and hardware developing couldn’t have prepared them for that particular customer experience. I suppose the MP3 player could have been a taser, or a phaser, or a remote control for an explosive – if it was dark, and you were some distance away, and you had the eyesight of a beetroot…Whatever way you look at it, having your DNA on permanent record for listening to music on the way home is pretty tough. I wonder what song it was? Answers on the back of an email please…
Tired of the mo thing yet? I went to check the mo in the photo nooth today and mo and behold, there was growth … an extra eyebrow, another nose, few more teeth
. Some may have the power of the third eye, but for me it’s the power of the all seeing, hairy-caterpillar third eyebrow. Having four nostrils to pick will mean i eventually grow four index fingers – will go well with ma banjo-pickin thumbs
And strangely enough if you google third eyebrow, this is one of the entries: a beat boxing flute man with a mobile eyebrow. Go figure…
This is my Simpsons avatar, son of Disco Stu hehe…
The ol’ Commodore 64 wouldn’t have believed its eyes…
The internet really has opened up a whole world of possibilties for individuals, businesses, and artists.
This link is kind of interesting / disturbing … it’s called bioart. I found it on the boing boing site, but the engadget site has a quicker feed it seems.
It’s not auctioning off a kidney (turns out that was a hoax) but it’s likely to put you off your morning toast.
And engadget is also reporting the world’s largest TV is becoming available at retail outlets. It’s a freakin monster. Just compare the size of the remote.
Good thing the dollar is up against the greenback – this thing retails for over US$53,000.
